Design process

 The software's I used for showing and illustrating the designs i made are various i will mention some of them in this post and try to elaborate them and the stage of the design process i applied the specific software for. but first let me introduce you to the design process i  go through most of the time to make my designs define a good Architecture.

I normally go through five stages of architectural design process, in making of architectural designs: -

Art Museum 

• the first stage is data gathering where i meet with a client and discuss about what type of architecture they wish to own the budget in hand and the style of architecture they admire.
• after I meet with the client   and knew about their needs, I go to another stage of data gathering where i collect data about the site which includes investigating the type of the land, its physical features, soil type, wind direction, vegetation type and density, zoning regulations, and last but not list northing. 
• the second stage is concept development. based on the data i collected from the first stage I will compose a concept that best defines the site and the architecture in need 
• then i will discuss with the client about the concept developed and if it made sense to them the third stage will appear where i make schematic designs of the concept developed it is in this stage where the design in question takes its first form internally and externally. internally the basic amenities of the architecture are laid out and externally its form, in accordance with the concept and the style chosen will be fitted to the regulations and take their first shape
• now we have accomplished a crucial task in the making of the architectural design next, after discussing again with the client and taking some feedbacks, we refine the schematic design and develop it into a detailed design. This fourth stage is the beginning of the end of the design process where we design the furniture layouts, openings, material types and other details which make the style show up bringing the design to life
•  stage five is the stage of preparing working drawings to do so we must take the final approval of the client.
• the final stage of the process is printing the working drawings which is to be approved by officials of the state where the construction phase begins.

If I briefly mentioned the process of design I apply for my architectural design projects, then I will try to mention some the crucial software's I use for each stage of the process. I will, if Allah wills, post the detail descriptions of the software's in my next post.

   as an architect I was introduced to SketchUp in architecture school, and I was overwhelmed by its simplicity. its simple and best for concept development  architects also use it for modeling architectural models to be visualized later in other software's such as v-ray, Lumion and the like. I remember designing my first Architectural design with it and used it for concept development afterwards. The software is easy for modeling designs using its push and pull tool and other similar tools one can also easily model some complex structures which is difficult to do so using other architectural design software's. And they say it was a free tool in the beginning.                                                                                                                                                                     
   
   
                                 
2. Graphisoft's ArchiCAD is the second software I knew as a student of architecture and it's a great BIM tool for architectural design projects. you can design details of a building using it and its settings could be adjusted to make it easy in preparing working drawings.
